In 2009 a Jackson Group team member conducted a historic preservation study on the United Methodist [Episcopal] Church in Vernon Center, New York. The church built in 1835 serves as a congregation in a rural farming community in Upstate New York. The congregation requested a survey to be completed. Jackson Group members conducted the survey to provide evidence to be included on the New York state Register of Historic Places. The survey concluded that though the building had been moved, that the move occurred in the 19th century, and had preserved the structural and historical integrity, and the recommendation was made to include it on the list as a historic building.
The study combined extensive deed, file reviews and research with local and regional historical societies. Architectural elements and determining phases of construction consisted of the remainder of the project. Data taken from the report will be consulted prior to any further additions or repairs made upon the building.
